Club Championships

Click each section to expand for details about how the championships work:

If you complete any of the relevant races you will automatically be included in the club championships. There are 18 races in total, six short, six medium and six long, and to count in the final standings you just need to complete ANY six races. There is no requirement to do one from each distance so you could just do all six short races, for example.
The first Pennine runner in the race gets 100 points, the next 99 and so on. Therefore, if there aren't many Pennine people at a particular race, you can get lots of points even if you're right at the back of the field.

There's an open championship and a women's championship with prizes for the top three finishers in each. Use the select box to find the women's results, grand slam results, etc.

There are also male and female Vets prize, although people can double up so if the top three overall includes a Vet, they will also get the relevant Vet award. You only get the Vet award for your age category though, so if the first Vet is a V50, they don't get the V40 prize as well.

The Club Championship is designed to reward the best runners but there is also the Grand Slam which rewards tenacity and attendance at races. In this competition, all your races count and it's simply the person with the highest score who wins. Again, there is an open and women's grand slam, with the results for the latter displaying below the overall results.

You only need to do three races of the same distance from the list to count in this competition. Also, these are only awarded to people who have not won a prize in the main championship, apart from the grand slam. So anyone who finished in the top three overall or won a Vets prize is excluded from the competition. In recent years, these prizes have often not been awarded at all, particularly in the women's categories, because there was no one who had done three long, medium or short races who hadn't already won another award. It would be good to see more people taking part in these competitions going forwards.
