Based in the rough hill areas of Cheshire, South Manchester and the Peak District, Pennine Fell Runners
has been a fell running club since the early eighties, when it was originally formed to cater for the fell
running needs of runners in several of the local athletic clubs. It now forms a sporting and social focus
for lots of fell runners in the area − members and non-members alike.
Pennine Fell Runners are involved in many of the local races, as organisers and competitors, and they also
field teams in the English and British Championships, as well as in most of the national relays.
Although competitive and successful, Pennine Fell Runners actively enjoy their sport, and believe that the
social aspect of fell running should never be under-estimated. Hut weekends, handicaps and other specialist
races all help to form a supportive framework in Pennine's calendar of events.
